How to Generate a Roof Structure

RedX Walls can auto-generate a roof structure based on your wall layout, or you can draw a custom roof path for more control.

Auto-Generate Roof

1. Open the Roof Tools.
2. Tap Auto-Generate Roof — the app will create the roof structure based on the path of your house walls, including overhangs.

Draw a Custom Roof Path

For sections like a lower roof that don't follow the main wall path:

1. Switch to the top-down view.
2. Open Roof Tools and select Draw a New Roof.
3. Draw the custom path — the app expects the lengths at the exterior walls and will add overhang from there.

Editing Roof Sides

• Select between the rafters to choose a roof side.
• Convert to Gable — the app will also offer to convert the lower wall into a rake wall.
• Custom Pitch — change the roof pitch (e.g. 12/12) and the structure will update automatically.

Roof Settings

Access the full roof settings in two ways:

• Open Roof Tools → Roof Settings and choose which roof structure to edit.
• Or select a roof side, tap the three dots menu, and choose Roof Settings.

From here you can adjust the initial roof angle, rise to roof start, rafter spacing, and more.
