What are Pro Deck Plans?
Pro Deck Plans are a professionally drafted permit plan set created from the deck you designed in the RedX Decks app. A RedX drafter reviews your design and produces a 6-sheet PDF set - joist plan, beam plan, footing plan, deck board plan and two elevations - with code references, schedules and general notes on every sheet.
How long does it take?
Your plan set is delivered within 24 hours of payment - most go out the same day - and we guarantee it: if your plans are not in your inbox within 24 hours, you get your money back. You get an email the moment your plans are ready, with the PDF attached and a copy saved to your account.
Will my building department accept these plans?
The set is prepared against the International Residential Code and includes the framing, footing and elevation sheets, schedules and design loads that residential building departments ask for. Requirements vary by jurisdiction, so tell us your city when you order and we will draw to what they ask for. Some jurisdictions also require a stamp from a locally licensed engineer, which is separate from this service.
Do I need to send you anything?
No. Your deck design comes through with the order, so we already have the dimensions, framing, stairs, railings and materials. If there is something specific your city wants, add it in the notes and we will work it in.
What if the city asks for a change?
One round of revisions included if your building department asks for a change. Reply to your delivery email with what the reviewer asked for and we will update the set and send it back.
Is this the same as the blueprint in the app?
No. The app blueprint is generated automatically and is great for building from. The Pro Plan set is drawn for a permit review: separate sheets per discipline, IRC references, connector and footing schedules, design loads and notes, all checked by a person.
