How to Add Point Loads

Updated April 1, 2026

Point loads work similarly to beam pockets in RedX Walls. Here's how to add and customize them.

Adding a Point Load

  1. Open the Wall Tools and scroll down to Add Point Load.
  2. Set the number of studs and material size in the properties panel.
  3. Tap Add to Wall — the app will show recommended locations.
  4. Press Add at your chosen location, then tap Done when finished.

Repositioning

  • Select the point load and use the blue move button to drag it.
  • Or tap the measurements to set an exact distance (e.g. 4 feet from the exterior of the wall).

Point Load Settings

Select the point load and tap Edit to customize:

  • Number of studs
  • Material size — 2x4, 2x6, etc.
  • Height override — set a custom height from the subfloor up (e.g. 60 inches for a beam coming in at a specific height).
  • Point load orientation — standard or sideways. When sideways, choose flush to sheeting side, flush to front, or centered.
