How to Add Point Loads
Updated April 1, 2026
Point loads work similarly to beam pockets in RedX Walls. Here's how to add and customize them.
Adding a Point Load
- Open the Wall Tools and scroll down to Add Point Load.
- Set the number of studs and material size in the properties panel.
- Tap Add to Wall — the app will show recommended locations.
- Press Add at your chosen location, then tap Done when finished.
Repositioning
- Select the point load and use the blue move button to drag it.
- Or tap the measurements to set an exact distance (e.g. 4 feet from the exterior of the wall).
Point Load Settings
Select the point load and tap Edit to customize:
- Number of studs
- Material size — 2x4, 2x6, etc.
- Height override — set a custom height from the subfloor up (e.g. 60 inches for a beam coming in at a specific height).
- Point load orientation — standard or sideways. When sideways, choose flush to sheeting side, flush to front, or centered.
